Recap from DINE OUT. DO GOOD. at New Fortune Asian Cuisine
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for our Dine Out. Do Good. event with New Fortune Asian Cuisine. The restaurant was filled with energy, community, and delicious food. We’re grateful to New Fortune for partnering with us and to every diner who showed up to support families in need. Stay tuned for the final donation total.
More Dine Out Events Coming in July
Arby’s Port Washington – All July long. Round up at the register to support Family Promise.
The Steerage – Wednesday, July 16 – 10% of sales will be donated.
Toucan Food & Custard – Sunday, July 27, 11AM–9PM – A portion of sales will benefit Family Promise.
AED Installed at Portlight Shelter
Thanks to a generous donation from Mel’s Charities, an AED defibrillator has been installed at our Portlight Shelter. This life-saving equipment ensures our guests, staff, and volunteers have access to emergency care if ever needed. A huge thank you to Mel’s for making safety a priority.
All Family Promise staff members are undergoing AED training to ensure everyone is equipped to respond quickly and confidently in the event of an emergency.
Leo Club Donation
The Grafton Leo Club generously donated essential items from our shelter needs list. As a youth-led service organization, their commitment to leadership, teamwork, and community shines through their actions. We’re inspired by their dedication and thankful for their support.
Let’s Talk Series on TMJ4
TMJ4’s Let’s Talk series came to Port Washington to highlight what matters to our community. Held at Inventors Brewpub, the segment featured interviews with residents and local leaders. Mike and Joana spoke on behalf of Family Promise about the housing crisis in Ozaukee County and the pressing need for more affordable housing options.
Bader Foundation Grant Secured
We’re proud to announce that Family Promise has received a grant from Bader Philanthropies in support of our Homeless Prevention and Shelter Programs. This funding will expand our impact across Portlight Shelter, Rapid Rehousing, and case management efforts.
HCMS Grant Awarded
We’ve also been awarded $50,000 through the State of Wisconsin’s Homeless Case Management Services (HCMS) program. This funding will directly support case management at the Portlight Shelter, helping families and individuals navigate the path from crisis to stability.

Back to School Fair: Registration is Open Until August 8
We’re making sure every student starts the school year ready—with backpacks, supplies, and support. Distribution will happen on Saturday, August 23 at Ozaukee Food Alliance

Back to School Fair – School Supply Drive Begins July 15
Help us support families by donating school supplies between July 15 and August 19. Collection barrels will be located at:

Feith Family Ozaukee YMCA, Port Washington
Port Washington State Bank (All Ozaukee County branches)
Kohler Credit Union, Grafton, Mequon, and Saukville

Fairways for Families Golf Outing – Early Bird Ends July 31
Our annual golf outing fundraiser is set for Sunday, September 15 at Fire Ridge Golf Course. Take advantage of early bird pricing through July 31 and help us raise vital funds for both Family Promise and Ozaukee Food Alliance. Sponsorships are also still available. We are now accepting auction item donations — please visit the registration page to fill out our auction item donation form.

Interested in volunteering with Family Promise of Ozaukee County? We have several opportunities available for first-time volunteers.
Landscaping Support
We’re looking for volunteers to help us with some landscaping opportunities around the fence and playground after our fencing project is complete.
